Linda Miller is the 2012 Disability
Pride Parade Grand Mashall
Linda E.
Miller is the Domestic Violence Services Program Coordinator for Sinai
Health Systems. Providing the
only service of its kind for disabled people throughout the Chicago land
area, Linda works primarily with disabled survivors of domestic neglect,
abuse and/or violence. She has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice
from Southern Illinois University and brings more than 30 years of
professional experience in the corporate and healthcare fields.
As someone who
has grown up with her disability, Linda is an avid disability rights and
women’s advocate. Trained in domestic violence services, Linda conducts
disability and domestic violence instruction for domestic violence shelters
and Chicago-area healthcare providers and has received certification as a
Domestic Violence Professional from the State of Illinois in the Fall of
2006.
She is
passionate about furthering her knowledge of domestic violence and is
especially dedicated to expanding resources for disabled victims of abuse
who are African American and people of color.
